The ‘Pop-Up Playground’ is an interactive, site-specific installation. It is designed to encourage active public engagement through collective creativity, movement and expression. The project has human centred design at its core, by engaging the young and old in a public space, it inspires curiosity and initiates human connections. Essentially it is a tool that allows us to act out our deep human desire to express and connect. It includes a 20 minute performance by three professional dancers, who use the installation and boxes as a stage and a playful object. The choreography reflects how the human body and a simple cardboard box can interact, portray feeling, and mirror human movement.
